Chinu, evidently you have not been here long enough to form a realistic view of education in USA. Taxpayers pay far more than any other country with dismal results. Pres Bush's NCLB program merely insists that every public schools' student performance improve in basic reading & math. That minimum standard is already well-financed. All other workers receive an annual performance appraisal...that practice should include teachers as well. Best method to gauge teachers' job performance is to test their students. However, teachers through their union(worst obstacle to improved education) fight that suggestion...why?
