This is essentially what I understood you to say in your own incoherent way at the time. Evidently, I gave you credit for a technical sophistication about lighting that you don't possess.

100% true. Seen it happen a number of times, back when I did lab work for fashion photographers.

Also, with infrared imaging tools (apparently not used in the photo cited), "seeing through" can go much farther:
