Ted, good post... You know, this country has made mistakes........there is no question about that.......sometimes big ones. However, over the decades of its existence, it has developed this incredible tableau of laws, customs and values that is irreplaceable. It is a legacy that has stood the test of time. As a kid learning this stuff, I found it brilliant, awe inspiring, extraordinary.....I can't think of any other adjectives to describe our system of gov't and laws......this coming from a kid who would rather play ball or be a frat boy. And yet there are people who choose to ignore this incredible inheritance and to remake our world in their own image. That's why I went so ballistic over the issue of postponing the November vote. Its why I was incredulous when the GOP reacted the way they did in 2000. Our FF with the help of the courts that came afterwards have come up with a nearly fail safe system that has just about any potential crisis covered. Why fukk with something that works? I don't get it! ted
