Kerry Backs Much of Pre-emption Doctrine

NewsMax.com Wires

Friday, July 16, 2004

The Democratic candidate finally sees a bit of light at the end of his very confused campaign tunnel.

Is this for real or is Kerry merely indulging in another flip-flop.

Whatever! Still nice to see that Bush's position, enunciated after 9/11 and repeated again and again since then, has finally waked up at least one member of the Democratic Party.

Could it be that Kerry is trying to rescue a campaign on the edge of implosion? Or has he suddenly come to his senses.

Is Kerry lifting from the president's playbook? Bush in said March 2003: "when it comes to our security, we really don't need anybody's permission."

WASHINGTON: Democrat presidential candidate John Kerry said Friday he would be willing to launch a pre-emptive strike against terrorists if he had adequate intelligence of a threat.

Kerry offered some support for one of the most controversial aspects of President Bush's national security policy, even as he criticized the president for not reforming intelligence agencies after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
