I can definitely confirm that airport security is Europe is much better than in the U.S. The guards armed with very observable sub-machine guns give a certain appearance of strength. I doubt they will be a significant deterrent. They have not been in the past. Israel has the best and most effective airport security.

Hi Mike....Maybe you will be able to note some of the airport differences in security and talk to Homeland Security about them....I wonder if there is much standardization between the airports....Some of the employees seem put together and quite able to handle any situation and others....well, to put it kindly, don't seem to be able to find their way out of a paper bag. Hopefully, you are able to do some sightseeing as well as working on your travels!!! Take good care of you!
