I dont venture away from energy much, but I dont mind shorting my favorites when I think the trend is primarily down. I think you need to understand the implications of HDD and CDD before considering a normal Summer. The warm Spring reduced much more HDD than it made up with CDD. Also gas CDD are at the higher end of the energy chain. I am hoping that earnings conference calls are hyper bullish for PTEN NBR BJS and a few others and this in parallel with some real Summer weather we get some action. PTEN should be $20+ soon and NBR $52+. But I may raise some cash this week if Robry's numbers or the weather does not improve. I have heard every story there is about oil coming to America, it has been coming and we still are not getting into a comfort zone. The weather forecast is showing some promise but who knows. Money managers need to do better than the market and their peers. The tech sector may be wearing these guys down and they may now be focusing on energy and metals.
