Having said that, places like Phoenix and LA are becoming more humid generally due to the addition of swimming pools and lawn sprinkler systems. At one time, LA was so dry, they recommended it as a place for asthmatics but no longer.

I'm goin' to LA for ten days at the end of August... what should I expect?

Hot, humid, smoggy with afternoon pop up T-storms in the mountains south and east of the city. The forest fire season is early this year so you could be having smoke and ash pouring down on you as well. Best to head to the beaches and try to stay cool.

Sorry but its the worst time to visit the city.
