I was adamant about what I knew for a fact -- I know three things for a fact: 1) We dropped a bomb on them. 2) They believed it was on purpose. 3) They let it go. I have an opinion on three things: 1) A significant body of opinion holds that we did it on purpose -- we formally investigated ourselves and claimed it was an accident, but there was plenty of dissenting opinion in the US that holds that it was done on purpose -- I reluctantly came to hold that opinion as well. 2) If we had been bombed by China our response would have been far less restrained than was theirs. 3) You are the winner of the award for "most obnoxious person on this thread" -- an award for which there is always stiff competition around here. My comments were crystal clear -- I knew for a fact what the Chinese believed and I said exactly that and called it a fact in the post -- you can tell when I mean "fact" because I use the word "fact" as I did when I said "I know for a fact" in my post. I can't seem to provide you with relief on this matter, although I have certainly have tried and tried and tried -- perhaps an enema would do the trick.
