Shoes:
Yes we will defeat them technologically. Japanese remove their shoes before entering homes. (Probably why they invented incense)
Travelers would be required to remove shoes which would be stored in an area where an explosion would not destroy the airplane
A foot-recognition device could be placed in the shallow disnfectant/deodorizing pool on the boarding ramp.
To avoid panic, opaque plastic baggies will later be provided to hide even the most ugly feet.
People whose feet do not match the imprint on their passports could be stunned by a gentle(?) electric shock while stepping in the pool, then easily captured and dragged off by the authorities .
