I think left wingers do tend to use Marijuana more than the right wingers. So I agree with you there. I'll add to this that I think they use it because they are more open minded and more willing to experiment with newer fads. That is why Marijuana has become their drug of choice. I am not saying alcohol has been around longer than Marijuana. Just that Marijuana is a newer mainstream drug.

You and I both agree that the mental and physical effects of alcohol are much more harsh than that of Marijuana. What does that say about the segment of the population that still chooses alcohol over Marijuana? It's not that I don't think that that segment of the population seeks a different type of a high. I think they are more apt to abuse prescription meds and I am not saying that just because of Rush Limbaugh.

I also think that the reasons that that segment of the population (convervatives, not all, but many) not only choose alcohol over marijauna, but shun the use of marijuana, lead to the reasons that a large portion of the liberals and moderates shun conservatives.
