If fighting a war in Afghanistan was so tough (and I presume you agree that we had to go there), then it was all the more important that we refrained from misadventures like Iraq. We should have poured all our energies into the Afghanistan effort

Hey dipy,
How many easy wars have you fought?
Of course fighting in Afghan was tough.

Let's look at the results. The country is free.
Sure they have a criminal element. But they have to resolve that issue internally. We have that right here in America, 50 folks are murdered everyday.
How many more men would you have sent?

And what do you find wrong with Karzai asking for a little help? Do you object to his perhaps cutting out Kerry and his repeated begging for help? Karzai has asked for a little extra security for the free elections. Nothing unusual, both the US and NATO have done that before.

Congratulations on your visit to the Indian sub-continent. But saying that makes you an Afghanistan expert is like me telling you my TDY to Boussac, France in 1964 makes me a Russian expert.
