1979 -80 rate hike was due to run away inflation. We are no where near that right now.

I think it is normal for Fed to adjust the interest rate back to the historical level at this current situation, if and when Fed feels that it is unnecessary to keep the ST Fed rate at 1.25%. It has no implication of suppressing POG or increasing bond yield, nor maintaining stronger dollar, imho.
