True, the American government has become a religion onto itself, and George Bush is the high priest of the Americana religion. Why else would people continue to VOLUTNEER to join the armed forces?!? I mean, I thought all the lies, deceptions, killing/maiming in Viet Nam were enough to make people wise up that their own government can't be trusted. Nothing has changed since the Viet Nam era, we've had scandal after scandal, lie after lie (including recent ones concerning 9/11 and Iraq), and yet people still believe in this mythology known as America. One thing I think all us 9/11 conspiracy theorists should realize is that for those in power, 9/11 is ancient history. Sure, it can still be used for campaign fodder, but as far as for practical policy purposes, it's long gone. The objectives behind just letting 9/11 happen have been achieved: new U.S. bases have been established in the oil rich regions of the Middle East and Central Asia, Iraq and Afghanastan have puppet U.S. governments, the PATRIOT Act has been passed, as has the Homeland Security Act (both of which expand the federal government's power tremendously and are important for their plans going forward, and both have been generally accepted by the American people as necessary). The 9/11 conspirators have achieved almost all of their objectives. 9/11 is not a concern for them anymore. They know that most "mainstream" Americans don't pay any attention to conspiracy theorists (like us), no matter how convoluted the official storyline is (like we're suppossed to believe that Mohammad Atta's passport was found in nearly perfect condition just blocks from the former WTC?!?). 9/11 has been a very successful operation from their elitist point of view. Perhaps the one objective they haven't achieved via 9/11 is to get Bush reelected, it helped him a lot for a period of time, but hasn't lasted long enough to ensure his reelection. Oh, but I bet they have other plans/dirty tricks to get Bush reelected. How many pre-election terror warnings have we received from the Republicans so far, I think it's now FIVE as of last week. They're getting us ready for something. If they don't pull Osama Bin Laden out of a cave 2 days before the election, they'll have some other plan in place in a desperate attempt to maintain power.
