Two points.

1. Handset replacement market (multiple functional handsets) does not require new infrastructures.

2. 3G did not take off was not because infrastructure issues. It is due to handset problems. I bet you Nokia and Ericcson are more than willing to migrate all GSM networks to 3G now than ever. They need more revenues to come in. The problem is they are paper tigers. They do not know how to make 3G handset work properly without helps from QCOM and Asian manufacturers. May be Nokia can finally get some 3G handset going. Good luck to Nokia.
