Hubbert is most famous for predicting the actual peak for US Lower 48, although he of course suggested that a world peak would also occur. the hard analysis involved in extrapolation of global peak was done by Campbell and others (who are geologists with careers in the oil industry, unlike Ruppert). actually Campbell has discussed geopolitics, which you can easily find in his writings. it hardly takes a genius to realize that if the world runs out of oil, there will be dire geopolitical consequences. Ruppert is in about 100th place on my list of people who've made a significant contribution to the peak oil debate.

if you want to follow peak oil, you are doing yourself a disservice not to read Campbell and other geologists. there is a free monthly newsletter which is worth reading available at asponews.org
