Fine. You haven't. I have.

In particular, in the early 70s I encountered a number of individuals who made a lifestyle choice to be gay. Several have continued it until this day, and now, you would fully believe they were born gay. But had you known them prior to their decision, you would have known they were not born homosexuals.
