They have not done so.


Yes, they did.....right up until last fall. Only then did they begin to question the wisdom of going to Iraq. It was only the Brit. and Canadian press that were skeptical from the get go. Had the American press not rolled over so easily we might not be in Iraq right now.

In fact, the NY Times apologized for being so trusting of Mr. Bush's rationale for going to war:

As for other national matters, the American press believed it was patriotic not to be too critical of the president no matter the problem or the issue. Such a sack of $h*t......they undercut the first amendment and belied the notion that we have a free press.
