Pork is one thing, sending our children to die in Iraq (and our brothers, sisters, friends, parents). Congress was given important war-making powers for a reason -- and when Congress abdicates its role, our system of government and the democratic political culture we value so highly has been debased. In this regards the Democrats are the worst offenders -- they abdicated their role in the hope of winning seats in mid-term elections. It backfired, and so it should. It was spineless and irresponsible.
