The US Gvt is not the place for Technology building, funny how that bit was WIPED from your memory. Someone please Refresh my memory... Did Ford, GM, Damlier/Chrysler, Toyota, Datsun, or VW build all the wonderful roads and bridges we get to roll our fancy govt' financed /sponsored automobiles along? NO! The US Government, when it was virtuous (long ago) understood what would perpetuate its existence. That has all been lost to greed. Come to think of it, 170+ years ago I think it was our state & municipalities who laid the plumbing infrastructure for us to manufacture & market textiles to the rest of the world competitively. In case the word "Textiles" escapes you. Textiles would be the clothes that protect your body from all sorts of liabilities to include: Sun, Fire, Cold, Chemicals, Respiratory devices, Bandages, etc. NEED I GO ON? Governments sponsor all types of profitable innovation. To the tune of 1000+%! "That's a good thing" Sadly virtuous thinking has all been lost. Now the govt thinks the Financial industry is the only profitable industry for our country. Problem is the US Gov neglected to invest in the education of our citizens to be able to even count let alone think prudently. Why do we monetize misguided talent? Shame on 'us.' We deserve everything we have coming to us. Greed kills... You have no idea how we could turn the world on its ears. If we would just get back to doing what we're best at in this country, designing creating AND MANUFACTURING!!!!!!!!!the finest tangible products everyone else in the world desires. Let's get it on...
