I know that's what they oppose and it's a stupid attitude for so-called teachers. ALL EFFECTIVE education always tests whether the crucial points of each subject have been learned by each student. Anything less creates ineffective methods that produce uneducated students.
Teachers are merely opposing performance pressure--they want to continue the failing status quo of elementary education. All U.S. workers undergo annual performance appraisals...there's no reason why teachers should be exempt.
