agreed, Carter messed up in a couple ways
by the way, you Bushy Boys, Carter was a Democrat liberal

he was pre-occupied with the Palestinian peace process, and was willing to put the key parties in jeopardy to gain that peace
a noble effort, but not practical
Sadat was assassinated, while Arabs isolated the USA

he was a cabinet minister micro-manager, and did not delegate well

but he inherited a messy economy only 5 years after the Nixon Wage Price Freeze, which was very disruptive to the entire supply chain
a messy economy which was only 3 years after the great Arab Oil Embargo

Carter messed up on both the foreign relations and economy
but can be given some slack on the economy
that was a horrible decade of adjustment with energy costs quadupling throughout the entire US economy
and adjustment to supply stimulus from no higher prices all through the supply chain

But THE most incompetent?

.......... George W. Bush! Hands down! This guy is a clown of monumental proportions. He has gotten us into a foolish quagmire that we don't even have the slightly idea how to resolve or exit. What a wonderful job of planning.

Iraq! American troops! Target practice!

..... And we get to spend billions of dollars to have them be sitting ducks. Wow!

..... And what exactly has been done to raise security on the domestic front? Nothing! Oh, but I get it. The troops over there in Iraq are distracting the terrorists. Now that logic is just beautiful.

Hey, when bush leaves the White House in January, be sure he turns the lights out.
