My understanding is the Commission has concluded that there is no evidence from which to conclude that the attack could have been prevented. Delayed perhaps, but not prevented. AS's contention that Bush could have done something to stop the attack is pure partisan folly.

The failure of our intelligence agencies to coordinate and share information is, IMO, most at fault. The CIA and FBI are entrenched agencies, each with deeply embedded culture. They jealously protect their respective turf and as a result don't cooperate and share information.

I fear for the next attack, because just as with 9/11, it will be something no one contemplated or, if contemplated, never really understood how to prevent it. We're talking about attacks that could cripple our infrastructure here.
