Ted, The only reason the polls are not worse for Bush is because his base.....people like you......are standing by their man purely for ideological reasons.

I don't remember Gray Davis enjoying this much support from his "base," despite all of the efforts by Terry McAuliffe, the DNP all-stars, and the Hollywood left.


That's because the left doesn't have the numbers of ideologues that sit on the right. Besides, the gap between Davis and Arnold is not huge. Davis calls the loyal opposition Republicans; Arnold "girlie men". There is not a huge difference in character.

If anything, Terry McAuliffe should be sacked and replaced by Bill Clinton himself.

Why? Things are going better and better for the Dems. Their malaise is over and they are on the comeback trail. You don't fire what's working.
