>>shorting is such an obvious play<<

Well, i have been watching this FDX, and it has tacked on over 30% to its share price in the last year or so. It has 75% inst. ownership and is 21% owned by 3 institutions.

I am fascinated by it's price action (up) in this market, given that the volume has been steadily diminishing and of late has been downright enemic. This could be seasonality, but who in the world is buying this one, with a PE of 30 and a dividend of .3 of one percent.

Also DHL is in the fray and could take some mkt share, oh, and fuel prices are high.............

Am I missing something here or do institutions make money the same way as everyone else in this market, that is, by buying low and selling high?
