When my mother died I put the house up for sale. Usually takes 60 days from the offer to closing. In my case I got a call while in Canada on Thursday that the closing would be on the following Tuesday. House buying people wanted to buy the furniture but not for what I had asked which was $4k. Jeeze, the breakfront was worth $6k. Mostly new furniture and very expensive stuff from the Merchandise Mall in Chicago. My mother's hobby was buying new furniture every other year.

So I beat feet home, started loading my pickemuptruck, made some calls and got close to 8 large and kept the breakfront and 6 marble tables plus some other stuff. Then at the closing the people wanted to sue me for not leaving the stuff there. They said I stole the brick fireplace in the middle of the house. That's hard to do because it was still there.
