Ted, re: The amount is triple what Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, projected in April he would need to make it through September. Lawmakers of both parties said at the time that his projection seemed too low, so the projection was not a surprise. These guys are so gutless, they can't sell the program with real numbers. Remember they threatened to fire the guy if he gave Congress the real numbers on the prescription drug bill, it was 50% higher than they claimed, and it passed by one vote. It absolutely, positively, wouldn't be law now if the Bush admin hadn't lied to Congress and the American people. They will do anything. John
