Lindy: Do you still believe that the NYT is the best newspaper in the nation? Maybe Was but now IS? What does it take to be great and how does one lose that greatness?

It is extremely bad. It practically paints Berger as an innocent bystander in a "war" between the nasty Bush White House and the "taken by surprise" Kerry campaign. Sheesh.

That's exactly how my hometown rag handled the story except it was page one, section B. <font color=blue>"I can't get over how bad the Times story on Berger was today. All about "What did the Bush White house know and when did they know it?" and "White house leak!" You would think the scandal was poor Berger being attacked by the Bush. Perfect example of a DNC "talking points" memo written as a Times front page story."
