LBJ had us in a much bigger war and would have lost so badly he quit first. The Iraq situation now is not so much a war as a nation-building security occupation (which could go on for decades). Frankly, Bush should do what LBJ did and withdraw from the race. He has lied, been caught, failed and left us in worse shape than we were in 4 years ago. He is going to lose the election and he probably knows it, but he has a habit of never holding anyone accountable, especially himself and Cheney.
