Elmer, RE: "Disconnects and system unavailability."

How often and has it happened in the past year or two?

Is there an alternative backup, such as placing an order by phone, that's immediately available if their online system goes down?

By reading other posts, it's probably incorrect for me to say I am seeking a brokerage firm for trading. Because I don't do nearly the trading other folks do on the thread here and in fact, it's basically just a buy/hold and cov call strategy and once in a blue moon the rare leaps.

On another note, never placed the trade for Intel leaps yesterday, since my account had a temporary hiccup. Maybe that's not such a bad thing, given the market's reaction to Coke, Amazin, MS, etc. Geez.

What do you make of this stock market? Maybe we're close to a near-bottom, when there's bearish titles like this:
"Time to dump stocks?"
