Long long long overdue.
Yes friends once again it's time for....
Mish's Household Tip of The week
(even though its's been months).
PS this one came as my response to a post on the FOOL about bees in the ground.
My subtitle is this:
How to kill your sister without really trying!
Without further ado here goes.....
===============================================
Here is a story from when I was about 10 years old and my younger sister about 8 and we were at my grandmothers house:
I was exploring with my sister and we found a hole in the ground.
I said, and I remember this clearly "Let's see if there is anything in there"

I took a stick and jammed it in the hole and twirled it around and nothing happened. I recall saying something to the effect of "nothing's in there" and walked away with my sister still peering down the hole.

I looked back and next thing that happened was hundreds of yellowjackets came streaming out right for my sister. She ran to the hose with an entire beeline of yellowjackets following her. She got stung many times and I did not get stung at all. I watched here running with all the "bees" following her into the house. Many got inside when she ran in.

Not sure what the moral of this story is if there is one. Perhaps this: "When I am stirring up trouble, it is best to keep away".

BTW I bought a spray can of wasp and hornet killer last week as we have both paper wasps and mud dauber wasps building nests on the side of our house and in the mailbox as well. I sprayed them and expected them to come at me or fly around eratically like things do when I spray them with raid or whatever, but I was stunned. They immediately fell to the deck and just died. In 1 second flat. Not sure what is in that stuff, but it is immediately killing. If you have paper wasps or yellow jackets you might want to get a hold of wasp and hornet killer (I think it was ortho) as that stuff is plenty effective and much better that poking sticks in the ground with your sister nearby to take the heat.
