Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, Anyone ...

I'm in the early stages of slowly converting a VHS collection of over 1000 movies and concerts to DVD using a Toshiba RD-SX-32.

Occasionally I buy a prerecored DVD or two or three of things I either don't own or which originally did not record well on generations of VHS tape decks back ...

Far and away the most satisfactory DVD that I have bought to date is a documentary of the all too short performing career and life of the long tall Texan, Van Cliburn, that while not a concert contains great concert footage from his performing years and superb narration by some of our favorite narrators and several of his contemporaries:

He is not exactly a recluse but we have been short changed by the fact that he seldom performs.

The man had (has) magic fingers. Listening is one thing. Listening and watching another.
