May be so. But I think the immigrants you referred to were quite different from the immigrants I knew. Most of them had no choice but to take what was available since so many others were willing to accept the same offers should they refuse them. It was a case of letting a job go today and seeing it gone the next. So, many immigrants accepted, more often than not, what was available.
