In a crisis the President and Vice President should never be in the same place. For Bush to have returned to Washington would have been unthinkable. I don't think triffin will understand this simple, preplanned logic. The President, no matter where he is, has, at his fingertips, all the communications necessary, to run the country . His being spirited to a safe location has been standard operation procedure for many years. Only an idiot would say the President should race back to the White House, where he would then become fair game for asassination . Sheeesh! KM
