Jeez, it took you long enough! Well, you could have just said it straight out, you know. Instead you had to get all occam's-razor cutesy. <g> Actually, I did consider that as a potential explanation for the jump--briefly, very briefly. It's plausible if one knows absolutely nothing about the race except that Armstrong is American and the race is in France. I see you have Josh and John's "Hmmm..." down. I don't know what their "hmmmmm"s mean. Mine means that while I take your point about simplicity, I don't believe that explanation for a minute. There's a difference between simple and simplistic. And with that we've gone full circle.
