Virginia school aims to build character

I am glad they are doing well. But what I don't like is that they are hard to reproduce. This type of school usually depends on a extremely strong leader and a dedicated staff. They work well as long as the original people are there, and then go downhill.

To accomplish anything permanent, we need to change the nationwide structure to one that will work. We know what works, the schools used to provide it. But the Teacher's Colleges and Unions have got in the way. Long, long battle to change it. In the meantime, generations of kids are growing up with a bad education.

Fortunately, enough are getting getting themselves educated that we can stay on top. With a huge help from immigrants. But if it doesn't change, our great grandchildren will be doing things the Chinese way.
