Correct. In addition, instead of speeding up decision-making it will actually slow it down. I have ample personal experience with the layering of beaucracies. It is nothing more than moving the lawn chairs around so everything looks pretty.

Another Czar we don't need. Some firmly enforced policies regarding profiling, immigration and border protection plus some serious ass-kicking at the higher levels of the agencies is what is required.

The recommendation to establish an Intel czar will only add another layer to the already very top heavy system, but it also gives congress somebody to blame next time.

Exactly. As one of the bloggers I just posted but it, "put in a czar, and then say, 'Dont blame me' when we get hit again."

if they put in an intel czar with controls over budget then doesn't this eliminate numbers of committees and sub committees in congress who approve all the individual budgets and then create one oversight committee in senate and house. I doubt these people will want to give up their power in special oversight committees.
