Having served in the Naval Reserves in a Seabee unit for 4 years, I can tell you that not drilling for 3 months doesn't mean jack squat. You can do all your drills for a year in a straight 3 week period if you want to and not drill the rest of the year. Your annual active duty AT period can be whenever you schedule it. If you change jobs, you are given time to reaffiliate with a new unit at your new employer's location. Reserves are so flexible and you guys just don't get it. Now look at John Kerry. He went to Navy OCS in Newport Rhode Island just like I did. He stayed in King Hall just like I did. He did 3 years on active duty but owed 4 on active duty and 4 in the selected drilling reserves. Kerry didn't show up AT ALL EVER! He completely reneged on his ENTIRE reserve committment. And you guys fault Bush for not affiliating and drilling with a new unit after moving halfway across the country. Shame on you people.

Bush attended enough training during other months in 1972 to fulfill his service commitment for that year.--this is documented and he got a good year for 1972. You people are completely ignorant.
