those quoted cost was only for VERY FEW private schools, where teachers' pay could be as high as >10,000 Yuan a month. Majority of Teachers pay are bet. 3,000 to 5,000 Yuan a month.

Strangely enough, I feel for the same amount of money, Beijing is much cheaper to live comparing with in the US, all things considered, and I am not even talking about big cities in the US<g> The survey looks like focus on those couple of facilities/hotels/restaurants serving foreigners principally, so the cost is skewed. And anothing thing is that since FEW Chinese like bloody (literaly<g>) steaks, so of course it will be more expensive. I went to some most expensive Chinese restaurants in Beijing, and their price is still cheaper comparing to the US.
