I'm shocked, SHOCKED to hear that these liberal groups are trying to stifle free speech. Cho should be allowed to speak.

Gay group drops blue comic from fundraiser

BOSTON, July 23 (UPI) -- A gay group has dropped X-rated comic Margaret Cho from the entertainment bill at a fundraiser during next week's Democratic convention in Boston.

Unity 2004 apparently wanted to avoid the kind of controversy that followed Whoopi Goldberg's blue performance at a fundraiser for Democratic standard bearer John Kerry, E!Online reports. Goldberg lost her contract as a spokeswoman for Slimfast while Republicans demanded apologies for off-color jokes about President Bush.

The event next Monday is not an official Democratic fundraiser. Unity 2004 is a coalition of 10 gay and Lesbian groups.

"I am not surprised at the reversal in light of how the Kerry campaign distanced itself from Whoopi's routine in response to the unrelenting media hype and Republican criticism," Cho's manager, Karen Taussig, told E!Online.
