<<<WASHINGTON — Another strike against the United States on the scale of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks is probable, members of the commission investigating those attacks said yesterday (see GSN, June 23).>>

Given enough time , nearly inevitable.

Different though, than 911. There may be no video, and therefore it would have a different emotional impact. How different 911 could have been if they had missed the two towers and only eliminated the people in our Government in DC.

And the timing of the next attack could influence who will become our next President. Strange world.

Terrorists are taking a chance here by threatening us.

A natural disaster or other chance act like the Texas City disaster. the spread of PCB's through cattle feed, the mysterious sinking of a ship at sea, or the Tunguska explosion.
Chernobyl- And the nation that is harboring terrorists becomes number one on the list of usual suspects. A potential nuclear waste disposal site.

Whatever occurs, it will always be a surprise, and the story will remain incomplete. What sank the Titanic? Was it brittle rivets, or defective steel. Did Amelia Earhart
make it to land?

What if:
OBL claims to have planted a nuclear device under a Saudi city or at a US Port. How do we prove it is not there, what is our response to be, do we wait for the threat before deciding how to respond?

Tough questions with no perfect answers.

I am not worried, I am pissed that such sub-human animals as inhabit the Al Queda waste our time and resources countering their threats and forcing us back to the ancient kill or be killed situations.

The International community must decide what rights if any , terrorists may have in human affairs. Apparently it is not against the law to make them part of the landscape with missile strikes in wartime, but do not embarrass them if captured.
