I had one of those for AP calculus. Supposedly a good teacher, so presumably knew the pedagogy. Problem was, she knew squat about calculus. I had studied it on my own the previous year and summer. I was the only one in the class who passed the University's AP calculus test and got college credit for the course.

I also took AP College Chemistry. The instructor knew his subject- -quite well, actually. 80+% of the class got college credit. I was one. And I hadn't previously studied the subject.
