Ted, That last statement is a loaded one. What do you mean when you made it and how does supporting Israel effect it?

Some of you scoffed when I called it a crusade on the part of the extremist Muslims, but that's exactly it. Or if you prefer, it's a war of cultures, and America is the representation of a culture that runs totally against what the radicals desire. Society, religion, and politics are all intertwined within that culture, along with our support for Israel.

It may turn into a war of cultures but that's not how it started. There are real and substantive reasons for the antagonism between Muslims and the West. By saying its nothing more than a war between different peoples hides the true issues and turns us into an innocent victim. We are neither innocent nor the victim.

It's misleading to single out our support for Israel, because it suggests that if we stopped that support, the Arabs would like us more.

That's true but that doesn't change the fact that its one of the reasons for the antagonism.

I believe wholeheartedly that the Arabs would like us more if we stopped supporting Israel.
