Pestle There are several recurring elements in these stories and in this case Timothy Grimes, like almost every other investor in this story, purchased a stock that was not what he thought it was, GIFS. There were never really any investors in GIFS, there were people who thought they were investors but the only word that correctly describes a purchaser of this stock would be "victim". GIFS happened fairly early in the history of Silicon Investor and the people who were victimized did not remain idle. If you go and read the early GIFS thread you will discover that the reasons we exist are real. An early investor in GIFS was SI's tonto. Today tonto is responsible for some of SI's most persistent DD in regards to investment fraud, and he isn't alone. The investors who invested in DCI had an opportunity to bail out when tonto showed up on that thread, today they would, back then they didn't. If they had gone and read the early GIFS thread their view of tonto might have been changed, they might have avoided death on the DCI battlefield. Every day we see the results of persistent and tireless efforts here on SI by people who are intent on being heard, their voices arise from the battle.
