A very good post by Graystone on another thread. It is important to point out who the dishonest posters are on SI...they make this site less valuable...and are only here for themselves... Our avatars are complex shadows, anchored in flesh and blood, with a range of new and unknown powers, furthermore we are in a theatre, exaggeration is expected and required. There is an undercurrent to almost every interaction on SI, this could not operate as an effective court of public opinion unless the iron was out on all sides. Every day we see battles break out, every day we see people fight for a variety of reasons. The depth of the communities response on any issue can always be measured by the position of a thread on the Hot List but this is misleading if you rely on this as the sole indicator of an issues' importance. Calculated Risk's post demonstrates, more than anything, the lack of interest on the part of the demolibs in any sort of open, honest debate. I no longer post on that thread because the thread host is a liar and the majority of the posters are interested in nothing except operating as a cheerleader squad for their hero.
