No, not exactly, but it is a reason.

They believe our culture is decadent, offends Allah because of its decadence, and accordingly must be brought under submission to their intolerant ways.

For myself, I think the things I mentioned do show a decline in American mass popular culture. It has indubitably become a lot more crass than it ever was in the past. But I also understand that as we age this is not an uncommon thought so I keep that notion also in mind.

Yes, I think so, to a large extent. The advent of Western technology and globalization brought right into their living rooms the "gifts" of the Western (unintended) cultural imperialism.

I don't think that this is a "threat to Islam", as the popular notion goes. Islam is still a rapidly growing religion. But yes, it is a threat to the Fundamentalist Islam. However, while it is a threat to the fundamentalists, it also presents them with an opportunity -- to argue for more radicalization... which is something they have been fighting for over the centuries.
