Of course not. The right is terrified that the SS shortfall will become a line item in the budget and money will be moved over from defense to pay for it. Then they would have many less missiles and guns with which to play.

In fact, the GOP manages to create drama over every budget line item EXCEPT defense. The purpose of the drama is to create hysteria so that not many questions are asked. The GOP hates questions......and when asked a question, they often insinuate that the asker isn't smart enough to understand or unpatriotic or both. They use the same approach with their wives and it seems to work with them so they think it will work with everyone. <g>
