"I can't help but wonder just what any other president would have done given the very same set of circumstances that confronted Bush?"

How about "not invading and occupying a middle eastern nation with a largely secular government that posed no threat to us"?

As I've written before, I am Republican (former delegate to the RNC). I've voted GOP almost my entire life with a few exceptions; one of those was in 2000 when I voted 3rd party as a protest against Tweedle-dum and Tweedle-dumber. My vote didn't matter since I live in California.

I voted Dole in '96, Bush 41 both times, etc.

Since I voted 3rd party in 2000, I knew I was going to lose (it was just a protest vote). I gave Bush the benefit of the doubt and even defended him to some of my friends for quite some time. No more!

Now I'm out distributing Kerry-Edwards bumper stickers (Kerry will be a fine President).
