I do hope that Kerry lays to rest this issue once and for all. Either the right wing thinks the Americans are morons (I don't care what they think of their base) or they just don't get it.

The Dems have said over and over again that they realized Saddam was a threat. If Clinton did not recognize that then he would not have retained the 'no fly zone" imposed by Bush Senior.

The disagreement is over the way junior approached the Iraq issue. Presidents before him recognized that Saddam was essential to maintaining the geopolitical balance and it served US worldwide interest. But that was beyond Junior's level of comprehension. And it resulted in his failing on the foreign policy front. I have seen no President who has failed to display leadership when he had the support of the entire country. There were no demonstrations on the streets, no stories of concientious objectors, refusniks etc. The nation stood behind Junior. But <font color=red>we now know what we did not know then. <font color=black>We now know that Bush is no leader. The American President is the strongest person on Earth. But he is now telling us he is not and that there are others who are stronger than him, the CIA, etc. etc. Yes they voted for the war. But <font color=red>how <font color=black>they go to war (politically) is decided by the President. Bush failed.

Stronger at Home, Respected Abroad.
