You are right about that. You were commenting on an article that discussed the number of barrels of syncrude that were being produced by various companies, and you said: >>>from what i have read, about half the "barrels" produced from tar sands are not even converted to oil, but just used as bitumen..<<<

The implication of that statement is that the reports of the production figures of syncrude are inaccurate and that they are including by-products as well as syncrude.

Incidentally, do you have a link to a source stating how much of the Athabasca tar sand production is simply being used as bitumen?
