I am suggesting that the three nations referenced require a stable environment capable of attracting tens of billions of dollars in foreign investment.

If you think the West is going to sit back and let Iran control the world through 2/3 of the worlds oil supply you are mistaken.

I am not expert buy I dont see the Iranians having such a major influence over the other Shiites just because they are of the same sect.

Iran has its eyes on the Iraqi oil prize because their existing economic model is doomed. Their production of oil is weakening and they know that within 5 years or so their production will be declining hard with increasing costs. This against a population with ever increasing social costs.
